Project Manager – 37 hours per week
To develop the Charity Link’s trading arm
Salary £27,000 plus profit sharing scheme and pension scheme
Charity Link helps thousands of local people facing poverty, hardship or crisis. We help by finding funds for people and children in need to purchase basic items such as beds, cookers, clothing, and in emergencies, food. We are planning to open a trading arm for the charity supplying affordable white goods and furniture to Charity Link’s service users and the public, and through partnerships with other organisations. This is an exciting opportunity for a well motivated self-starter who enjoys a challenge.
You will be responsible for developing and growing our trading arm supplying in the first instance a range of white goods and later furniture and other household items. The job will involve the sourcing and supply of goods, the recruitment and management of volunteers, as well as the general management of the business.
The post will be based mainly at our distribution unit on the outskirts of Leicester and at our offices in the city centre, but will require travel throughout the East Midlands in order to source goods and develop business links.
You will need to have excellent communication skills, a good level of numeracy and literacy, be computer literate and able to deal effectively with a wide range of people. It is also essential that you are a team player and can demonstrate your ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines and targets alike and demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills. You will need to be able to drive, have a full clean driving license and regular access to a vehicle.
This role offers a great opportunity to make a tangible difference to the lives of local people and children, and the wider community.
