The office will shut at 5pm on Christmas Eve and will be open again on Monday 29th – 31st December. We are closed on New Years Day and will be open again on Monday 4th January.
Food bank: We have been working to ensure that vulnerable individuals and families have provisions for the festive period. The food bank will close at 4.30pm on Christmas Eve and will be open as normal from Monday 4th January.
Thank you so much for your support in 2015.
A kind Charity Link supporter has donated two quality hand-painted porcelain dolls to help raise funds for the charity; Kylie (peach dress) and Katie (blue dress). Both feature lovely hand-made clothes and realistic detail.
We are taking silent bids until 16th December for each doll. They would make an ideal Christmas present for doll lovers old and young.
Simply email your highest bid to Rachel.firstname.lastname@example.org (stating which doll your bid relates to) and the highest bidder on 16th December will be notified.
You can then collect the doll from our offices (Millstone Lane in Leicester city centre) or pay postage of £5 per doll.
Please share details with others to try to reach as many doll lovers as possible – thank you!
All proceeds will go directly to helping local people in need over the winter.
(Each doll has a reserve price of £20. Katie (blue dress) is approx. 22 iches long to give you an idea of scale).
It is not long until our team of 14 walkers set off on the huge challenge of reaching the summits of Pen-y-ghent (691 meters), Whernside (728 meters) and Ingleborough (723 meters) and covering a distance of around 25 miles in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, all in under 12 hours, to raise funds for Charity Link.
The team set off on Friday 26th June, ready for a dawn start on Saturday 27th June.
You will be able to find out how the team are doing via our Facebook page on the day (mobile signal depending!).
Thank you to everyone who is joining us on this challenge.
You can show your support by sponsoring the team at www.justgiving.com/charitylinkyorkshirethreepeaks
Every penny really does count and will help spur the team on. Knowing people are supporting you to complete the challenge really does help during those very dark moments which are usually experienced on a daunting trek like this!
This week (1st – 7th June) is Volunteers Week.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our volunteers, past and present, who have made such a vital contribution to our work. Our Leicester city centre food bank is manned Mon-Fri by a team of dedicated volunteers and we also have volunteers who help in the office on admin and marketing tasks on a regular basis. Thank you all so much – we really couldn’t do it without you!
If you are interested in volunteering at Charity Link there is more information here.

Congratulations to our Charity Link team who managed to ‘escape the farm’ during the Farmageddon Run Challenge at Brooksby Melton College on Saturday (25th April). The team, including seven from Sturgess Motor Group, has helped to raise over £1,000 for Charity Link.
The team tackled a tough 5k course of woodland, farm tracks and grassland featuring man-made and natural obstacles including hay bales, tyres, mud tunnels, cargo nets and walls
If you fancy taking on a challenge for Charity Link get in touch – there are now many events across the East Midlands and further afield and we can give ideas and fundraising support.
