A bellyful of laughs raised a barrelful of cash for charity
An extra special Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival 2012 experience was held at Bistro Live and raised over £1,300 for Leicester Charity Link. Over 100 guests attended the sell out gig to enjoy a night of good company, great food and fantastic comedy.
Gary O’Donnell, compère, entertained the crowd with his tales of Leicester, the unique comedy double act, Brian Damage and his glamorous assistant Krysstal, set the scene with their music and deadpan comedy. The gags just kept coming and coming from comedians Isaac Lee, Ben Ennis and Leanne McKie. Then Anthony King headlined the evening with his unique brand of dry wit, observational comedy and of course songs. A fantastic evening was had by all and the best bit, £1,300 was raised for a worthwhile cause.
Sue McEniff, Director of Marketing & Fundraising at Leicester Charity Link, said “It was a fabulous night; a big thank you to everyone who supported our comedy event, Bistro Live, Sam Johnson for the photography, Anthony King and all the comedians who ensured that the night was a great success. Due to the unique way in which we work we can convert every £10 donated into £50 by accessing money from charitable trusts that are available to help individuals in need. Which means that we can convert the £1,300 raised on the night into £6,500 – all of which will go help many, many, local people and children in desperate need.”
