The Goods Depot
The Goods Depot is the trading arm of Charity Link. This exciting social enterprise, launched in 2019, supplies goods to our clients and also to the wider community - with any profits helping to support Charity Link's core work.
Based from our warehouse in Glenfield, Leicestershire, The Goods Depot provides high quality, value for money, reconditioned white goods, including washing machines, cookers and fridges, along with beds and mattresses, to Charity Link clients and to other charities, housing associations, student housing, community groups, organisations and the general public.
The establishment of The Goods Depot was made possible due to a support grant from The Big Potential - a Big Lottery Fund grant programme.
The Goods Depot has a number of benefits.
By supplying items direct to Charity Link clients we can:
- Maximise the benefits of charitable funds raised which will enable Charity Link to provide increased support (we can provide more appliances for the same amount of funding and therefore support more people in need).
- Increase control over the quality of items supplied and the level of service provided (all goods come with a guarantee for clients and customers).
- Provide a comprehensive supply of white goods which can be responsive to the needs of Charity Link service users.
- The Goods Depot will help to reduce our environmental footprint (most items are high quality reconditioned items).
A key purpose of The Goods Depot is to help Charity Link by providing a sustainable long-term income stream - so vital in what is an ever increasingly uncertain and competitive voluntary sector environment. All profits are gift back to Charity Link so that even more essential items can be provided to those in need.
