Autumn Thrive now out

The Autumn issue of Thrive, our twice yearly newsletter for supporters, is out now.

You can read a copy online here.*

This edition covers some tough topics. There is no escaping that there are many challenges being faced right now and we are continuing to see a significant increase in the number of people needing our help due to the cost of living crisis.

We believe that there is currently insufficient support from the Government to ensure that low-income families are able to afford the basic essentials they need for a decent quality of life. The energy price cap and late September’s mini-budget have done little to alleviate the pressure.

We are working tirelessly to meet the demand for help but urgently need support to ensure we can continue our services. That is why in this edition we are highlighting some of the ways you might like to make a difference.  They include:

  • Taking part in our November Sleepover
  • Purchasing Christmas cards
  • Setting up a regular gift (did you know that a gift of £3 a month will enable us to provide a bed and some household items each year?)…

We also highlight the enormous difference that leaving a gift in your will makes to our work. Leaving a legacy is something that we would ask all our supporters to consider.

Matt Glover Photography captured some great images at our Leicestershire 3 Peaks Challenge in September. We’ve featured a few in this edition but if you are on Facebook I’d encourage you to visit our page where you will see lots more uplifting shots.  Massive thanks to the 120 Challengers who took part and have now helped to raise over £14,000.

Finally, there is an article about our wish to have a team of Charity Link Champions –  We want to build a team of people who give some time and enthusiasm to help us build stronger links in the community in Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire in order to raise awareness, funds and help us deliver more events. If this is something you’d like to find out more about, we’d would love to hear from you.

* If you’d like to receive a copy of each edition of Thrive, either via email or in the post, please email and we’ll make sure you are added to our mailings.
