Bistro Live to celebrate 10th birthday with bonanza charity week

Leicester party venue Bistro Live will be marking its 10th year of being the life and soul of the city with a week of events dedicated to fundraising on behalf of Leicester Charity Link.

The week long celebration in November aims to raise as much as it can through a special five night series of themed parties with live entertainment, competitions and activities.  The aim is to both thank customers for their support and put something back into the local community in which they live.

A highlight of the week will be a VIP Birthday Celebration Evening complete with live band. Information on how to win or purchase tickets for all the events will be announced in due course.

Bistro Live has always demonstrated its passion for fundraising and during the last ten years and to date has helped to raise thousands of pounds through special events.   One of the most successful fundraising initiatives in recent months has been its offer to host a party night for friends and supporters of local schools.

Business Development Manager of Bistro Live Theresa Abbott, spoke of the plans: “It’s going to be a fantastic week and the perfect way to launch our busy Christmas party season.  If there’s anyone who knows how to throw a good party it’s the team at Bistro Live and we’ll be going all out to make every night memorable for everyone who comes along.  We’ll be inviting back regular customers who have made us their venue of choice for their special occasions over the years as we look to celebrate our own birthday celebration in style, as well as raise a significant amount of money for Leicester Charity Link.”

Speaking on behalf of the charity Susan McEniff, director of marketing and fundraising, said: “We’re very excited at the thought of not only raising lots of money but letting lots of people know about the work we do.  All our efforts go into supporting local people and children here in the city and throughout Leicestershire, and ensuring that every penny raised makes a valuable difference to someone’s quality of life.”

Bistro Live’s Leicester city centre location on Charles Street has a capacity of 275 and was the first of three set up in the East Midlands and Buckinghamshire, followed by successful launches in Nottingham in 2002 and Milton Keynes in 2003.  The Leicester venue also hosts Business Live UK, a networking group conceived by Bistro Live, which brings together between 80 to 100 business owners and senior decision makers every month.

In 2010 Leicester Charity Link raised over £724,000, changing the lives of 5,495 people in desperate need throughout Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Items bought include beds, clothes, school uniforms and wheelchairs.  For every £10 donation the Charity raises £50 from charitable trusts.
