Budget response from our CEO

“We are pleased that the Chancellor has announced a six-month extension to the Household Support Fund for struggling families in England. This does fall considerably short of the extra-two years that charities had been seeking to help vulnerable people, who are often the last to see the impact of any positive changes in the economy, but any extension is welcome.

The Household Support Fund was set up to help those most in need to receive extra support from their local council for things such as food, essential items and utility bills.

Charity Link has been continuing our close association with both Leicester City and Leicestershire County Councils to support the distribution of the Household Support Fund in these areas (in addition to our core charitable activities) and have seen directly what a difference this has made to families in need.”
