Jake needed help to create a happy home for his daughter

Jake is a single dad. He has been unable to work since taking on full-time caring responsibilities for his daughter. With little support from family and friends, Jake and his daughter found themselves homeless for several months. Jake was delighted to have recently been offered a council tenancy.  This is a big step towards a positive and settled future, but Jake knew he didn’t have the money to afford all the items the family needed with the limited income he receives from Universal Credit.

Thanks to your support we’ve been able to provide Jake and his daughter with a cooker and a washing machine – two vital items to help them to set up a new family home.

"It’s fantastic to see all the ways the community comes together to improve the lives of people in need. From undertaking challenges, to dress-up days, quizzes, raffles and cake-bakes, to donating, setting up a regular gift, volunteering or spreading the word, it all helps to ensure people living in hardship are warm, safe and fed and have the basics in life that we all deserve."
