Leo’s story
Leo was the carer for his partner. When she passed away it was a devasting loss. His life changed further when he was then rehomed and couldn’t afford afford the essentials he needed…
Leo’s life completely changed when his long-term partner passed away after a long illness. The couple had been living in an adapted bungalow and Leo was the primary carer for his partner. When she died, he was rehoused into his own, unfurnished property.
Not only was Leo dealing with his devastating loss, he was also struggling financially and found that when he’d paid for essentials, such as food and utilities, there was no spare money. He used the little savings he had to buy some of the household items he needed, but he couldn’t afford a cooker and didn’t want to take out a loan as he knew he couldn’t afford the repayments. But living without a cooker was impacting on his health and wellbeing. Leo was referred to us for help.
We’ve now been able to provide a cooker for Leo – a small but vital step in helping him make a new home and future for himself.
