Congratulations to our Power Walkers!
Thank you so much to all our amazing walkers who took part in our inaugural Leicestershire 3 Peaks Power Walk yesterday. Tackling 16+ challenging miles of Charnwood countryside, the peaks of Old John in Bradgate, Beacon Hill and Bardon Hill (the highest point in Leicestershire), plus Billa Barra, Hill Hole and plenty of other woods and fields, our walkers hope to have raised over £4,000 for local families in poverty.
A special thank you also to Claire from Full Square printing and who gave out refreshments via a VW camper van and Lynn, Emma and the team at Bawdon Lodge Farm who offered amazing brownies, fruit and a welcomed hot drink at the farm which is passed during the walk.
Well done to Kirsty and Shirley, who have set the record for the Power Walk with a time of 5 hours 54 minutes. Congratulations to Jeff Halford who was picked out of the hat and won a hamper as a sponsorship target smasher. Congratulations also to The Hill Conkerers team who won bubbles and chocolates for the biggest team entry.
Feedback about the walk was great so we are planning to power walk again next year. Do let us know if you’d like to be kept up to date with plans. Email rachel.markham@charity-link.org
