As we go into the difficult winter months, and as Government support schemes in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic reduce, we are once again bracing ourselves for an increase in need.

We remain here to help local people during the welfare crisis caused by the impact of the virus.

The office for Budget Responsibility predicts that unemployment rates could raise to over 13% in 2021, with four million people out of work.

It remains our aim, as always, that all local people are warm, safe and fed and have the basics in life that we all deserve, no matter what crisis (or illness, disability or difficulty) is being faced.

The There With You Fund

The There With You Fund, launched in conjunction with Leicestershirelive and the Randal Charitable Foundation, is now entering its second phase.

The Fund was launched in April with the aim of raising £250,000 in twelve months to support people across Leicestershire impacted by COVID-19 (by providing grants up to £300 distributed through the provision of essential items). The Fund now stands at over £134,000.

As of end of September we’ve already provided more than £56,000 worth of essential items, including:

  • 55 beds and bedding
  • 85 cookers
  • 68 fridges/freezers
  • food and clothing grants to help 893 local people in need

Meeting the Need campaign

It’s essential that we continue to fund our core services during this difficult time  (as we experience a 40% loss in fundraising income due to the pandemic). You can help ensure we can continue to support people across the community, including those who need further support outside our There With You Fund grants, through our Meeting The Need campaign page here.

You can find out more about what we’ve been doing since the start of the pandemic here.

Thank you for your continued support.
