Exciting partnership work

One of our core beliefs is that we’ll be most effective and efficient by working in collaboration with other organisations, and joint working helps to drive significant, positive change.

At present, we are involved in a number of partnership projects to help support people in need:

We are working with Quetzel and Sharma Women’s Centre on a Trauma-Informed Welfare Advocacy project.  Quezel supports survivors of trauma, abuse and exploitation and Sharma Women’s Centre empowers women to become more active, economically, educationally and socially, through a range of activities. Together we are researching trauma survivors’ experiences of navigating the welfare system. This project aims gain information to help the local DWP improve the support it can offer to clients in the future and has been made possible due to the support of the Lloyds Foundation Collaboration Fund.

After securing funding from the Leicester City Council Anti-Poverty Grant Scheme, we are working with The Zinthiya Trust on a collaborative project to support Leicester residents who are experiencing financial hardship. This work is helping to streamline processes between our organisations which will enable us to offer greater impact for clients going forward.

We’ve also recently joined the Let’s End Poverty’ movement. Let’s End Poverty is a diverse, growing movement of people and organisations who are united behind a vision for a UK where poverty can’t keep anyone down and ultimately a society without poverty.

In October the collaboration began a ‘Dear Prime Minister’ campaign which saw 15 letters from those with lived experience of poverty being sent to Downing Street, with the aim that, in the future, those with experience of the reality of living in poverty will be at the heart of the decision-making process: “If we’re going to end poverty in the UK, then people with lived experience of the struggle against poverty need to be part of the process. We’re coming together to ask the Prime Minister and key policy-makers to meet with people with experience of poverty, and to include their unique insights in the plan to end poverty for good”.  We will share how the campaign progresses in the coming months.

If you are from an organisation interested in collaborative working, we’d love to hear from you. Email info@charity-link.org
