Food bank volunteers urgently wanted

In June 2013 a food bank was launched at St Martins House, close to Leicester Cathedral in the city centre of Leicester. During its first year it distributed over 6,000 food parcels and demand continues to grow.

The food bank supports local vulnerable people experiencing crisis. Charity Link is currently looking for volunteers who have a few hours a week to spare and may be willing to help by serving clients who come to the food bank and to manage stock. Ideally volunteers are required between 12.45pm – 4.45pm (the food bank itself is open from 1pm – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday).

If you are interested in getting involved you can find more information at or by emailing Alternatively please call 0116 222 2220 and we will send you an application form and full volunteer description.
