Get into the Christmas spirit and if you have one, get your mutt ready to strut – all to help improve the lives of people in need!
We are looking forward to spending the day at our Proud Business Supporters, Bawdon Lodge Farm on Sunday 12th December, and with your help, raising some vital funds to support local families facing hardship this winter.
Ways to lend your support:
Mini sponsored walk
Dig out your Santa suits, reindeer antlers and elf outfits and join us for a mini sponsored walk (or run, jog, hop or skip) in the morning around the beautiful woodland of Bawdon Lodge Farm. Bring your four-legged friends (and if they like to dress up too – the more the merrier! ).
This event is designed to be a bit of fun, to help you feel festive, whilst helping to raise vital funds. Pre-registration is required and the registration fee helps with administration of the event. Any sponsorship you raise will go directly to providing essential items for people in need and to help those who are having to make difficult decisions over ‘eating or heating’ this winter. The more you raise the bigger difference you will make!
Proudly show off your finish-line medal and there will be also be a special treat for registered four-legged friends.
Take photos and share them on our social media pages as part of our virtual photo competition. We’ll be awarding prizes, including for:
Best dressed-(up) family; Best dressed-(up) child; Best dressed-(up) individual; Best dressed-(up) group; Best dressed-(up) – but only if they like it! -pooch; Perfect pooch; Our fav photo using our Festive Frolic board; Judges choice… (Tag us, include your entry number and use #festivefrolic when posting photos!).
- Pre-register please – entry costs £5pp, £10 for a family (max 2 adults and 3 children). Pay for your place via our online shop and we’ll send you all the details and your registration form. £3 fee for dogs (they’ll receive a treat at the end plus can enter our photo competition!)
- Suggested sponsorship target £25pp – enough to buy a bed for someone in desperate need. Together, how many beds can we provide?
- Dogs on leads please due to wildlife in the woods and clear up if necessary
- The route is on grass so you may need your Santa boots (or wellies) and it’s only suitable for ‘off-road’ buggies
Festive Frolic Woodland Trail
Along with our mini sponsored walk in the morning there will also be a Festive Frolic Woodland trail (from 11am – 3pm last entry with the farm closing at 4pm). Pay for your entry and go and hunt the clues in the gorgeous farm woodland. When you’ve finished return to the Charity Link stall to collect your prize. It costs £5 per child.
Visit the Charity Link stall
The Charity Link team will be at the farm all day where you can buy Christmas cards if you still need to stock up, our 2022 calendar (which makes a great present) and there will also be other fundraising activities happening on the day.
All funds raised on the day will help to provide essential items, including winter clothing, food, grants for utilities and cookers to enable vulnerable families to have a hot meal this winter.
If you are a local business who may be interested in getting involved, such as sponsoring elements of the event or providing prizes or sponsorship, we’d love to hear from you.
