Get your tickets for two exciting Rotary events this March
The Rotary Club of Leicester’s fundraising is Marching on…with Colin Derrick and his fellow Leicester Rotarian’s continuing to put huge efforts into raising funds to support our work. There are two exciting events coming up in March:
On Friday 1st March join us at The Little Theatre, Dover Street, Leicester to watch ‘Goodnight Mr Tom’, a play set in Dorset during World War II which tells the story of a young evacuee, William Beech, and his friendship with old Tom Oakley. The performance starts at 7.30pm with a chance to meet the cast afterwards. Get your tickets from our website at www.charity-link.org/shop
You are also invited to a night with a difference to hear the mysterious tale of ‘Leicester’s Greatest Show-woman’ – the elusive Mrs Austin! Join us on Friday 29th March at 7pm at Great Meeting Unitarian Chapel, East Bond Street to hear about the famous opera singer who was a huge star in the US – until disappearing into obscurity. Few knew what happened to her – until now! Join Professor Patrick Boylan who will reveal all – with help from Nicky Bingham (Soprano) as Mrs Austin, who will be singing Arias from Mrs Austin’s repertoire by Handle, Mozart, Arne, Rossini, Bellini and Flotow. Tickets are £12 (including refreshments) also available now from our online shop.
*Future Rotary Club of Leicester fundraising events include the Mad May Duck Race on Bank Holiday Monday 27th May. Details coming soon!*
