It’s Wear A Funky Scarf Day!

Are you lending your support?

Wear a Funky Scarf Day raises money for local people in poverty and aims to highlight the fact that poverty does exist on our doorsteps. Many of the vulnerable people Charity Link supports cannot afford to keep themselves warm over winter or they have to make the desperate choice between eating and heating – hence the scarf theme. But with your help today we can make a real difference.

It’s still not too late to take part. Simply pop on your most funky or favourite scarf and donate an amount of your choice for the pleasure (we are suggesting a donation of £2). It would be great to see your scarf selfies (you can share on Twitter with the hashtag #funkyscarfday) or email to rachel.markham@charity-link.org and we may share them online or in a forthcoming newsletter.
If you don’t have a scarf or if it’s not possible for you to dress up you can still lend your support –text FUNK16 £2 to 70070 to donate £2. (Visit www.charity-link.org/poverty-action-week for details of other ways to donate or get involved).

Whilst this is our ‘official’ dress up day, if you can’t take part today we’d be delighted if you organised your own Wear a Funky Scarf Day or other dress up day/fundraising event on a date of your choice. (Please contact us for any support, promotional materials or information you may need). We’d like to thank the team at Highcross Leicester Shopping Centre who held their dress up day on Wednesday.
