Join our parachute jump team
Are you inspired to do something amazing for Charity Link this year?
Would you go to great heights to help local people in need?
What about jumping out of a plane?!……
We are organising a team jump (tandem) to celebrate our 140th birthday this year.
The jump will take place on Sunday 22nd May at the British Parachute Association approved centre at Sibson Airfield, Wansford, Peterborough, PE8 6NE.
Those taking part will receive a short pre-jump briefing. It will then take around 15 minutes in the aircraft to ascend to 13,000ft (around two miles up!) before you enjoy the thrill of free fall – descending to around 5,000ft before your instructor opens the parachute and you glide back down to earth. During the six or so minutes under the parachute you can enjoy unique views of the local area whilst knowing you have done something truly amazing for local people in desperate need!
To join the team
By taking part in the jump you will be raising vital funds for local people in poverty, hardship or crisis.
It costs £200 to undertake the jump (£50 non-refundable deposit payable on booking and £150 payment which must be made to the jump centre on the day). We are then asking that you raise a minimum of £100 for Charity Link.
You may choose to fund your place yourself and ask sponsors to support Charity Link, or you can set a target of £300+ and ask your supporters to help you raise the full funds. You can even raise funds by organising your own fundraising activities, such as a cake sale at work, a raffle amongst family or friends, or a quiz night at your local pub – it really is up to you.
Members of the Charity Link team will be there on the day to cheer you on and congratulate you post jump – so what are you waiting for….join the jump team today!

The difference your jump will make
Charity Link (or the Leicester Charity Organisation Society as we were then known) held its first meeting in May 1876. It is shocking that our services are needed as much today as they were 140 years ago and we currently support around 8,000 local individuals and families in need each year. We provide essential items to help improve quality of life, such as beds, cookers and clothing. We also run a food bank in Leicester city centre. With your support we can help many more vulnerable local people and we hope to welcome you to the team.
