Thanks to our 90 Leicestershire 3 Peaks Challengers
Thank you to all our amazing Leicestershire 3 Peaks Challengers who took on our 16-mile challenge with a smile in the wind and rain (and a bit of sunshine) on Sunday (24th September) – all to help provide essential items for local people in need.
Over £12,500 has already been raised and with more to come in, together we are going to be able to help change so many lives in need. Thank you!!
Challengers included Mrs Henrietta Chubb JP, High Sheriff of Leicestershire 2023/24 who took part with her husband David, her consort Helen Trower and Helen’s husband Richard. Mrs Chubb has chosen to support Charity Link during her time in office and her team has raised over £3,300. Funds raised will help Charity Link to provide essential items, including food, clothing, beds, fridges and cookers to local people in need.
Susan McEniff, Charity Link’s CEO, who also completed the Challenge, says: “Due to the increase in need due to the cost of living crisis, Charity Link is currently helping 550 vulnerable people each month. We can only continue this level of support with the help of the local community and we are so grateful to those who took on our tough Challenge. Despite some rain on the day the atmosphere was so uplifting, with everyone coming together to do something amazing to make a difference.”
We are also so grateful to our wonderful supporters and volunteers who helped make the day so special. Special thanks to HCB Solicitors and Steven Mather Solicitors for their support, and to Bawdon Lodge Farm for hosting us so well at the start and finish line.
Next year’s event will take place on Sunday 22nd September – we hope to see you there!
