parkrun 150 Challenge

Help keep us running! 2026 is Charity Link’s 150th birthday – and there are lots of special activities taking place to mark this big milestone... including our parkrun 150 Challenge!

The Charity Link team and our amazing supporters will complete at least 150 parkruns during 2026 – with a target of raising £15,000 to help us continue our vital work, providing essential items for people in hardship or crisis.

Be part of our parkrun challenge team!

parkrun 5ks are a great way to bring the community together and to encourage people to exercise in the great outdoors. There are over 1,300 parkruns around the country – so you are never too far from a run.

We’d love your help to complete the Charity Link parkrun 150 Challenge!

How to get involved...

  • Join the team. We’ll post where we plan to run – we’d love you to join us
  • Set your own targets and gain sponsorship for your run/s. You could ask for donations in support of one run or you might like to set your own running challenge (such as completing a set number of runs or visiting a certain number of run locations during the year, or per second you knock off your personal best
  • Self-sponsor your ‘Charity Link’ run/s (suggested donation £15)
  • Sponsor the Charity Link running team. The team will be sharing regular updates on the runs they’ve completed. We’d appreciate every £1 donated in support of our efforts
  • A regular parkrunner? How about a pledge to donate or raise £5 per to run 30 events during the year (to raise £150?...)
  • Part of a group or running club? Could you pick one event and encourage your members to raise funds for Charity Link? We'd be happy to share your support on our website and social media pages
  • Get the kids involved. Children taking part in parkrun (junior parkruns take place on a Sunday morning) count too

Raise Funds

Everyone can use our parkrun 150 JustGiving page for donations (you can also set up your own linked page by clicking the orange 'Start fundraising' button).

Let us know

Remember to tell us when you complete a parkrun for us (so we can add your run to our run thermometer which we'll be sharing regularly!) and we’d love to share photos: email hello@charity-link.org

There are certificates for those taking part and special prizes and recognition for those who make the biggest impact during the year! Hit £150 raised, and you can also claim a free Charity Link t-shirt.

The vital difference you will make

By untapping funds from charitable trusts, we can turn every £10 you raise or donate into £50 worth of essential items for local people in need. This means hitting our £15,000 target will provide an amazing £75,000 of essential items, including clothing, beds, cookers, fridge freezers, washing machines and mobility and disability related equipment, for the most disadvantaged people in our local community.

Every pound you raise to help towards our total will make a difference.

  • £15 will help to feed a family for a week
  • £35 will help to provide a bed for a child in bed poverty
  • £65 will help to provide a washing machine, cooker or fridge freezer for some in desperate need
  • £200 will help to set up a home for a family after homelessness

Raise awareness

By running, telling others you are taking part, and sharing our sponsorship page, you are also helping to raise vital awareness. Your support will help ensure we can keep on running to help improve the health, wellbeing and dignity of people in need.

Run locations in our area of work (Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire) include:

  • Braunstone Park
  • Victoria Park
  • Abbey Park
  • Watermead Country Park
