Record breaking Leicestershire 3 Peaks

A week on from the Leicestershire 3 Peaks Challenge 2021, we are delighted to announce that over £10,000 has been raised so far!

120 walkers took part on Sunday 26th September, made up of teams from Leicestershire businesses, groups of friends and family and individual supporters, Challengers were tasked with raising sponsorship for walking round the 16 mile route, which starts and ends in the beautiful grounds of Bawdon Lodge Farm in Nanpantan, who are also one of Charity Link’s Proud Business Supporter Club members. The peaks included in the walk are Bardon Hill, Old John Tower in Bradgate Park and Beacon Hill.

The annual event, launched in 2016, helps to raise funds to provide essential items for people in financial hardship throughout Leicester, Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire. It was unable to go ahead as normal in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Challengers for the 2021 event ranged in age from 12 years to over 70. Three colleagues from Aggregate Industries were the first home, completing the route in under five hours. Just pipped to finishing post were ‘One Tentacle Loose’, a team of five colleagues from Octopus Energy who won the Team Competition cup for the quickest team of 4-6 team members home.
