Are you a trustee of a local charity which has received a letter regarding the Revitalising Trusts Programme?
Local charities are being urged not to panic if they have received an email from the Charity Commission advising them to transfer their funds or wind up their charity.
The ‘Revitalising Trusts Programme’ has been targeted at charities with low levels of expenditure, and asks charities to take action within four weeks or risk being investigated.
Charity Link wants to reassure charity Trustees that there are other options available.
Director of Marketing & Fundraising, Susan McEniff, said: “Trustees may be worried about the communication they have received from the Revitalising Trusts Programme. We want local Trustees to know that there are other options besides those detailed, and that Trustees should always seek independent advice before deciding to close their charity or transfer its assets to another body. Charity Link would be pleased to offer advice and support to any Trustees who are worried.”
