Curve partners with Charity Link to deliver a magical Christmas to local families
We have been delighted to partner with Curve theatre for the forth year to offer a magical Christmas experience to families we have supported this year.
Curve presented a special performance of festive children’s show Dear Santa, with over 250 free tickets, food and drinks and each child presented with a gift generously donated by guests who attended the opening night of the Made at Curve production of The Wizard of Oz.
Rachel Markham, Communications and Fundraising Officer at Charity Link went to help hand out gifts with many children sharing their delight.
Speaking about the event, Curve’s Chief Executive Chris Stafford and Artistic Director Nikolai Foster said:
“Since our partnership first began in 2018, the Charity Link performance has become a real highlight of our year here at Curve.
“Christmastime often marks a child’s first ever visit to a theatre, making these performances extra special. We passionately believe engaging with theatre is vital to our wellbeing and as we face a cost of living crisis, we would like to do everything we can to ensure theatre remains accessible to all our communities. We’re proud to work with the team at Charity Link and to have welcomed so many children and families to Curve to enjoy a treat this Christmas.”
Susan McEniff, CEO of Charity Link said:
“The cost of living crisis means that this Christmas even more local families are facing hardship and crisis. Every day Charity Link is helping people in need through the provision of essential items, but it has been fantastic to work with Curve again to offer a festive treat to families we are supporting. Many of the children had never experienced live theatre before so it really was a special and memorable afternoon.”
