New report into the impact of poverty in the UK

A new Social Metrics Commission report highlights once again the severe impact of poverty in the UK today.
Nearly one in four people (24%) are now judged to be experiencing poverty. 2.1 million more people are now living in poverty than two years ago.
The report has found that people struggling against poverty are more likely to have poor mental health, be living on their own and have poorer physical. health We see firsthand week in, week out, the severe impact financial hardship has on the health, wellbeing and dignity of those struggling to get by.
