Nina was struggling to provide for her baby after leaving an abusive relationship

Nina is a single parent and has been through a lot in the past few years.

Her child is subject to a Child Protection Plan due to her ex-partner’s drug-taking
and abusive behaviour.

Nina spent time in a mother and baby unit to help with her parenting skills, during which time her ex-partner ‘cuckooed’ her flat and she was unable to return.

Nina has been unable to work due to her caring responsibilities and she has
recently been diagnosed with agoraphobia and anxiety.

Nina has been helped to move into a new flat but this is an unfurnished
tenancy and she had no way to afford the costs of setting up her new home on
her limited income.

Nina was referred to Charity Link for help and thanks to your support, we have
been able to provide Nina and her new-born child with a cooker and a washing
machine to help them settle into their new home and give Nina’s child the best
start in life.

"It’s fantastic to see all the ways the community comes together to improve the lives of people in need. From undertaking challenges, to dress-up days, quizzes, raffles and cake-bakes, to donating, setting up a regular gift, volunteering or spreading the word, it all helps to ensure people living in hardship are warm, safe and fed and have the basics in life that we all deserve."
