Mia’s story
Due to health issues Mia was unable to work and the cost of living crisis meant she was struggling to make ends meet. She couldn’t even afford a bed.
Mia lives with her teenage son. She has serious mobility issues which prevent her from taking up paid work and the limited benefits the family receives leave very little after daily essentials are purchased – particularly in the current cost of living crisis. Mia has even started to sell items they own, such as their computer, to help make ends meet.
When Mia’s bed broke and she needed a replacement she knew there was no way she could afford to buy one and this was causing a great amount of distress.
Thanks to your support we’ve been able to help this family in need. By providing the bed Mia desperately needed, she now has a much greater chance of getting the rest she needs with the health challenges she faces, and this helps her face the future with more positivity during these tough times.
