Rachel’s story
After the separation of her relationship, Rachel moved into temporary accommodation. With both mental and physical illnesses and a low income, Rachel was struggling to buy the essential items she needed for a decent standard of living.
After the separation of her relationship, Rachel moved into temporary accommodation. Unable to see her family while she was there, Rachel was really struggling. A few months later Rachel obtained a property of her own but it was unfurnished.
Rachel suffers with both mental and physical illnesses that hinder her mobility and affect her ability to work. Also impacted by the cost of living crisis, Rachel was struggling to afford all the items she needed.
While Rachel was able to obtain some of the essential items, she was not able to afford a washing machine. Due to her physical illness this caused many issues as she struggled to hand wash clothes and trips to the launderette were difficult and expensive.
After being referred by a homelessness service, we were able to provide and install the washing machine Rachel desperately needed to improve her standard of living and give her some much needed relief.
