Hannah’s story
Hannah, who has been diagnosed with Huntingtons’s Disease and is single mum to three children, needed help when both her cooker and washing machine broke and she couldn’t afford to replace them…
Hannah, who is in her thirties, was referred by her social worker. Life has been very tough. Hannah has been diagnosed with Huntington’s disease, which affects the nerves in the brain and is life-limiting. Hannah is a single mum to three children (receiving no help from the children’s father) and, as she isn’t able to work, money is extremely tight. Things are getting tougher due to the cost of living crisis. Both her cooker and washing machine broke recently and Hannah had no way to find the money to replace these, so she was hand washing and cooking using a microwave which was making preparing nutritious meals for the family hard. With your support, we’ve been able to provide Hannah and her children with a washing machine and a cooker to make day-to-day living much easier. Thank you.

From undertaking challenges, to dress-up days, quizzes, raffles and cake-bakes, to donating, setting up a regular gift, volunteering or spreading the word, it all helps to ensure people living in hardship are warm, safe and fed and have the basics in life that we all deserve."
